Common questions

A few things parents ask before enrolling

Does my child need a diagnosis — ADHD, learning disability — for this to apply?

No. Executive Functioning skills develop in every child, and every child benefits from building them deliberately. Many of our families have no diagnosis at all — they simply have a child who is struggling more than expected for their age. The course works alongside any existing professional support.

What if my child pushes back or refuses to cooperate?

Before Module 1, there’s a 3-minute conversation you have with your child — one that brings them in as a willing participant rather than a reluctant subject. Most parents are surprised by how well this works. The course walks you through it word by word.

How is this different from hiring a tutor?

A tutor fixes content gaps — the specific math problem, the comprehension question. TheReadyChild builds the skills that make all content learnable: the ability to plan, start, focus, and persist. One builds knowledge. The other builds the learner.

How long before I see a real difference?

Most parents see their child initiating independently — starting without being asked — within 2–3 weeks of Module 2. The full seven-skill system builds over 14–20 weeks. You’ll notice changes long before you finish.

Why this course exists

TheReadyChild is what I wish I’d had when my son was eight years old.

When my son was in Grade 3, I watched him struggling with a math concept while his best friend sat next to him, trying to help. Something about that image stopped me cold. Because I had been there before — not as the parent watching, but as the child.

The feeling of not being able to grasp what everyone around me seemed to understand. The quiet shame of it. That feeling stayed with me long past school, into adulthood — touching my confidence, my sense of what I was capable of, for years.

When I saw my son in that same moment, I made a decision: I was going to make it my mission to make sure he never felt what I felt. What followed was years of research into how children’s brains actually develop — specifically, the Executive Functioning skills that make planning, starting, focusing, and persisting possible.

My son is now in his third year of university, studying neuroscience. He has told me that the reason he is succeeding today is because of the skills we built together when he was in elementary school. Not the content he memorized. The skills.
